Sign and date the bottom of page 1 of your I-20 (section #11) in blue ink.
Find your SEVIS ID# in the upper-right corner of your I-20. It starts with N_ _ _
Use your SEVIS ID# to access the I-901 SEVIS fee payment at: www.fmjfee.com

Print the receipt to document your payment and keep it together with your I-20.
Contact the US embassy or consulate nearest your home and make an appointment for a
“visa interview”. To find a US embassy, visit: www.usembassy.gov
Take the following items to your appointment. Tip: don’t delay and don’t be late! Neither ISS
nor Clayton State is responsible for delays in obtaining your F1 Visa.
o Valid passport issued by your country
o SEVIS payment receipt
o Original acceptance letter and signed I-20 from Clayton State University Copies of
financial documentation in case of request
With your passport and new F1 visa, confirm your travel to the US to arrive several days
before class to settle and acclimate. Undergraduate students must also register for university
orientation and may not miss or skip orientation for any reason. You may enter the U.S up to 30
days before the program start date on your I-20, but not afterwards.
Make sure all of your account holds are resolved. *Please note you cannot register for
classes until all holds have been resolved.* To check your holds, access your student account
(DUCK).
Within the 1st week of school, personally visit ISS to check-in. You will receive separate
email reminders about this process. Report your local address to ISS within 10 days.
