2. What are the required classes I should take in high school to prepare me for admission to a CES school?
High school students should enroll in college preparatory classes as freshman and continue to take them through their
senior year. Although we do not have specific high school course requirements, it is recommended that a student's class
schedule include the following:
Recommended High School Classes:
Four or more years of mathematics
Four or more years of English or literature
Two to three years of laboratory science
Two years of history or government
Two or more years of foreign language
Research shows that students who follow these recommendations consistently earn higher ACT and SAT scores. Advanced
Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses will also help prepare students for the ACT and SAT, and for
university-level work. Additionally, students should choose elective classes that will help them develop their talents and
appreciation for the arts, and those that will teach useful skills like basic computer operations and word processing.
In addition, please consider the following recommendation to be competitive for admission consideration as a new freshman
to CES schools:
Be living in harmony with the CES Honor Code and the CES Dress and Grooming Standards.

1. Meet with a Pre-enrollment Advisor or Counselor if needed
2. Apply for financial aid by completing the FASFA application
3. Pay a non-refundable $45.00 enrollment fee
4. Complete assessment testing
5. View an online orientation and attend a program orientation (for most programs).
6. Pay appropriate monthly tuition and fees. If you are planning to enroll in programs such as Apprenticeships (except
HVAC & Sheet Metal), Practical Nursing, Nursing Assistant, Driver’s Education, Pharmacy Technician, or Real
Estate, you must pay for the entire class term.
7. Fill out the Admissions Form and visit the Enrollment Office to enroll in classes and obtain a copy of your schedule
The enrollment office is open 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday for new enrollments. Walk-ins are welcome.
You may make an appointment to complete testing, counseling, and career exploration prior to enrollment (if needed) by
calling 801-627-8300.
Adults without high school diplomas are strongly encouraged to enroll in the General Educational Development (GED)
program. The Weber School District offers this program while attending your technical education courses at the tech
college. Completing the GED improves a student’s opportunity for being offered a job and earning more money. For details

High School Students
Steps to Enroll
If your cumulative GPA is above 3.0 you can use the following procedure:
1. Talk to your high school counselor about attending the Ogden-Weber Tech College.
2. Meet with the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator at your high school about the technical education
options available to you.
3. Review your transcript with the CTE Coordinator to determine if any of your high school classes will transfer to the
tech college. These classes will be listed on the Ogden-Weber Tech College enrollment authorization form.
4. Schedule an appointment with a tech college counselor through your CTE Coordinator for medical or dental
programs. All other programs bring:
I. High school transcript
II. Ogden-Weber Tech College enrollment authorization form
5. View an online orientation and attend a program orientation (for most programs).
6. Fill out the Admissions Form and meet with an Enrollment Advisor to complete the enrollment process. The
Enrollment office is open 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday for new enrollments.
If your cumulative grade point average (GPA) is less than 3.0, you are required to test prior to entering the tech college.
High school students may enroll and attend day or evening courses during the school year and/or during the summer after
qualifying through their local school. If you are interested in taking classes, you may initiate the enrollment process by
meeting with your high school counselor and then contacting the Career and Technical Education Coordinator at your
school. You must be 16 years of age or have completed your sophomore year.
High school students may also participate in the Apprenticeship programs with an authorization form from the sponsoring
high school Career and Technical Education Coordinator. Home and private schooled students may be authorized through
their local school district.
Please be aware that not all programs are available to high school students and some programs have additional enrollment
requirements.
Fee Waiver
Students who currently receive a fee waiver at their high school may also receive a fee waiver for many of the programs at
the tech college by obtaining a letter from their CTE Coordinator. The letter must be on school letterhead indicating that the
student qualifies for the fee waiver. The student must bring the letter to the Enrollment office during registration.
Concurrent Enrollment
The tech college offers several courses that are eligible for concurrent enrollment with Weber State University. In order to
participate in the concurrent enrollment program, students must obtain a concurrent enrollment packet from the instructor
listed for the class they will be attending. These courses apply to future, current, and/or those not older than one year from
the completion date.

First-time freshmen must complete mandatory new student orientation before registering for classes, however, all new
students are expected to complete an orientation before class registration. Early participation in orientation will allow for

QuickConnect is a 90-minute, in-person orientation offered year-round at various times and campuses.
NetConnect is an online orientation geared toward those who live at a distance and cannot attend an in-person

STEP 4 - MEET WITH AN ACADEMIC ADVISOR
Advisors are available to meet with you during your academic journey at SLCC.
To get you started, they will:
Interpret your placement scores and show you the sequencing of math, reading and English courses.
Help you create an educational plan and set up a class schedule.
Explain career and major options as well as transfer information.
Inform you about resources available at the College and in the community.
STEP 5 - CREATE MYPAGE ACCOUNT & REGISTER FOR CLASSES
Login to MyPage (if needed, select "Get your username and password (New Users)" and follow instructions)
Select Student tab
Under Registration Tools, select Look Up Classes to search for courses
Select a Term and Submit
Select Subject and click Course Search
Select View Sections next to the course you want to add to your schedule
Select box to the left of the desired class and click Register
OR If you know CRNs: select Add/Drop Classes under Registration Tools
Type CRNs and Submit Changes
If the class is full add it to Waitlist (WL)
STEP 6 - GET YOUR "ONECARD"
You must be currently registered (enrolled in classes) and show positive photo ID to obtain a OneCard. OneCard is the
official ID card for the College.
STEP 7 - PURCHASE YOUR PARKING PERMIT
Parking permits are REQUIRED at many of the SLCC campuses. Parking without a permit is available at parking meters. To
obtain a parking permit, bring in your current vehicle registration.

Purchase your UTA Ed-Pass
SLCC in partnership with UTA's Ed-Pass Program is providing its students, staff and faculty an Ed-pass for use with TRAX
and UTA buses. To purchase your pass please follow these steps.

The admission deadlines are August 1 for fall semester and December 1 for spring semester. To submit the online
application and pay the application fee, visit uvu.edu/admissions. Along with the application, you must submit the following:
Official transcripts:
1. High school transcripts will be considered official if they arrive to UVU from the high school in an unopened envelope,
emailed (admissions@uvu.edu) directly to UVU from the high school or faxed (801-863-8913) to UVU directly from the high
school.
2. College transcripts will be considered official if they have been issued within the last 6 months and arrive to UVU from the
college/university in a sealed envelope or sent electronically from the college/university to etranscriptr@uvu.edu using a
secure transcript exchange company or certified PDF document.
Official ACT/SAT or Accuplacer scores: Current ACT/SAT scores are required for all students under the age of 20; all
students 20 or older are required to take the Accuplacer placement test. If the ACT or SAT have not been completed or are
expired (two years for math and three years for English), placement testing (ACT-R or Accuplacer) is required and can be
taken at Testing Services in the Wolverine Service Center. Information, exam costs and hours are available
at uvu.edu/testingservices. . All testing must be completed before the admission deadline.

After completing the above step, meet with your advisor to get personalized help and to be cleared to register for classes.
You cannot register for classes until your advisor releases the registration hold. To locate your advisor, go to uvu.edu and

COMPLETE ORIENTATION
All students are required to complete new student orientation before registering for classes. For information on how to fulfill
your orientation requirement, visit uvu.edu/orientation. Orientation events are designed to make your transition to university
life a success and introduce you to the many services, programs and resources available at UVU.
REGISTER FOR CLASSES
After your advisor has cleared you and you have completed online orientation, log on to UVLink, go to the “Student” tab and
select “Planning Your Education.” Inside the "Registration Tools for Students" section, select "Look Up Classes.” For
questions regarding registration, call One Stop at 801-863-4636. Fall registration opens in early April; spring registration
opens in early November.

Admission Requirements
First-time students (graduating high school within five years prior to attendance) are admitted to SUU based an admission
index, which is calculated using the cumulative unweighted high school GPA and highest ACT or equivalent SAT
score. Students with an admission index of 90 or higher will be admitted to Southern Utah University. To ensure student
success, students whose English ACT score is less than 17 will be required to take ENGL 1000 with ENGL 1010. Students
whose Mathematics ACT score is less than 18 will be required to take the math placement test at entrance and the
appropriate math course based on the test results. These courses must be completed within the first three semesters of
attendance. Students with an admission index below 90 are encouraged to contact the Admissions Office concerning their
opportunity for admission into SUU.

Application Deadlines
Snow College does not have an application deadline; however, we do encourage you to apply early, before course
registration begins, so that you will have the best course selection possible. Students are admitted up to and including the
first day of each semester.
Students must meet all admission requirements to be eligible for scholarships.
The priority deadline for scholarships for new, returning and transfer students is March 1.
While you may qualify for an academic scholarship, these awards are awarded based on available funds. We encourage
students to apply as early as possible.
