Leave No Trace 101 Awareness Course
Requirement 5 of Outdoor Ethics Action Award for Scouts BSA, Venturers,
and Adult leaders. Ages 14+
Objectives: 7 principles of Leave No Trace; Importance of Leave No Trace
in outdoor activities; Leave No Trace resources and additional training.
Cost: $5 for materials, hangtag, and certificates
Youth Protection Training (YPT)
Youth Protection training (YPT) reviews issues concerning signs, symptoms,
and prevention of abuse of youth in BSA programs.

EAGLE ADVANCEMENT
Council activities for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA,
Venturers, Explorers, Adults, and Leaders are
a vital asset to better engage volunteers and
scouts in BSA mission, goals, and values.
Activities range from Pushmobiles, Pinewood
Derby, Cub Scout Baseball, and Outdoor
Expo. Lots more ideas for activities are
waiting for you to pursue.

TRAINING COMMITTEE
Grow your Unit through membership activities. Southern Sierra Council
thrives when your Unit is full! Include membership recruitment activities
on your Unit’s calendar year-round.
Membership Chair: Kathy Hill
Council Training Committee plans and presents trainings for all adults
and leaders. Training ensures program delivery, promotion of the
BSA mission and values, and keeps our youth safe. Trained leaders
are more likely to understand the aims and methods of scouting,
deliver a complete program to the scouts and families, and gain
confidence in leadership roles. Every scout deserves trained leaders!

PUSHMOBILES
Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos and
Arrow of Light scouts participate in
fun and exciting exploration themed
activities including camp-wide
games, archery, BB gun shooting,
crafts, and sports.
(1 week each in June and July)

A fun relay race using simple,
homemade, Cub Scout-powered
cars. The purpose of this event is
to have fun, promote participation
in a team effort, and to provide an
activity where "doing your best" is
most important.
