SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY AND
HARRISBURG AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Transfer and Articulation Agreement
FACT SHEET
Susquehanna University (SU) welcomes transfer students from Harrisburg Area Community College
(HACC). SU is one of Pennsylvania’s premier private Liberal Arts universities. This Agreement was
designed to facilitate the transfer of HACC graduates to SU.
TRANSFER ADMISSION
HACC students who submit a Letter of Intent to enter SU will be assured admission into a Bachelor's
Degree program with third year (junior) status at SU and will have their SU application fee waived
provided the following conditions are satisfied:
A)
Graduate from HACC with an Associate in Arts (A.A.) Degree or Associate in
Science (A.S.) Degree. Exceptions are students going into the following majors at
SU: Education (3.0 GPA); Graphic Design, Studio Art, Photography, Creative
Writing (successful acceptance of a portfolio); Music (successful audition)
B)
Students must satisfy all other SU requirements including any admission
requirements for the major as noted.
Note: A full time student admitted with third year (junior) status to SU should be able to complete a
Bachelor's Degree in a parallel program at SU within four regular semesters provided that the
student completes the appropriate Associate Degree program at HACC and completes and
appropriately sequences their remaining course work at SU.
Academic scholarships of up to $32,000 per year will be awarded to students based on their current
HACC GPA. These scholarships are awarded for the Fall and Spring semesters only.
All scholarships
may be renewed for up to four (4) semesters for students earning an Associate’s Degree contingent upon
earning at least 30 credits each academic year at SU, and that students submit their Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Scholarship eligibility for students transferring before an earned
Associate’s will extend beyond four (4) semesters based on the number of credits earned at HACC.
Students may also be eligible for need-based and other types of financial aid. An additional $5,000
scholarship per year is available for any HACC student earning membership to Phi Theta Kappa.
Students who are interested in the HACC/SU Transfer and Articulation Agreement program must
complete the Letter of Intent and submit it to the HACC Advising and Transfer Center.
