r Trading requires that personal information is provided as part of this application. The information is used by Fair
Trading to assess your eligibility for a tow truck driver's certificate under the Tow Truck Industry Act 1998.
Your
application will only be assessed if you provide all the required information, payment of the required fee has been
made and you sign the declaration on the final page. If you need help with this application, including edibility criteria,
please contact Fair Trading on 13 32 20.
In t
he course of assessing your application Fair Trading may need to consult/share information with other government or
private sector organisations. The information you provide will be retained at Fair Trading and is available to you for
inspection upon written request.
You must supply the following with your application:
2 photographs (passport size and quality) of the head and neck without headwear or sunglasses on a pale
background that are not more than 6 months old;
A photocopy of both sides of your current driver licence. A provisional driver licence is not acceptable;
Interstate/ Overseas criminal history and traffic record if applicable (refer Section 4.)
Correct payment.

VID-19 lodgement of renewal
In line with the NSW Public Health Order to stay at home, and to protect the community and reduce the spread of
COVID-19, we ask licence holders to lodge their renewal paperwork via email
to towtrucks@customerservice.nsw.gov.au.
If
email is not an option, you may return the form via post to: Fair Trading, PO Box 972 Parramatta NSW 2124.
Lic
ence holders are not required to provide passport sized photos for renewals lodged via email. Previously supplied
photos will be reused, however Fair Trading may contact you if a new photo is required.
In the event of ongoing closures across the State, receiving renewals via email will ensure your application can still be
lodged and queued for processing. Please contact us on 13 32 20 if you have any questions.

If renewal is NOT RECEIVED by certificate expiry date:
Your
certificate is deemed to have expired (work performed under an expired certificate is illegal).
Expired certificates can be restored (using this form) up to 3 months after the due date.
If the certificate is expired for a period exceeding 3 months, restoration may not be an option and you may need to
reapply.

legitimately use this information to determine the outcome of this application for a tow truck driver's certificate and in
the administration of that certificate.
I agree to abide by all conditions of my tow truck drivers certificate as provided to me by Fair Trading, and I
acknowledge that Fair Trading may impose additional conditions upon a certificate by notifying me of those
conditions in writing. I am aware that I must comply with all conditions of the certificate, and that, if I contravene
these conditions, I have committed an offence.

CERTIFICATE DURATION AND FEES:
IMPORTANT Eligibility Requirements:
All applicants are eligible to apply to renew for 1 year.
You must have held your driver certificate continuously for 3 years to be eligible to renew for 3 or 5 years. Reasons for
non-continuity include your certificate being suspended, revoked or lapsed. You must also have no more than one drivers
licence suspension in 2 years.

fees2/tow-truck-fees. The fee contains a non-refundable application fee which is retained by NSW Fair Trading if your
application is refused.
