Humber Pathways to Credentials
Use this guide to find your pathways to credentials.
Start Here: Learner Type
Select the option that best describes you.
Mature Student: If you are 19+ and do not have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma
(OSSD), you have four options for obtaining eligible status to enter into a Humber Program. If
this describes you, proceed to Mature Student Options.
High School Graduate: If you have, or will have, your Ontario Secondary School Diploma
(OSSD) or equivalent, before you start your Humber program. If this describes you, proceed to
Admission Requirements.
Transfer Student: If you have attended college or university you are considered a transfer
student. A combination of college/university/high school grades may be used for eligibility. If
this describes you, proceed to Transfer Student Options.
Mature Student Options
If you are 19+ and do not have an OSSD, you have four options for obtaining eligible status to enter into a
Humber program. Select one of the following options:
Independent Learning Centre: Take classes needed to obtain individual course requirements. If
you want this option, proceed to Admission Requirements.
Humber Academic Upgrading: Take 3 semesters to improve grades to meet admissions
requirements. Learn more at humber.ca/au. If you want this option, proceed to Admission
Requirements.
Testing: Complete the testing process to qualify for entry as a Mature Student (certificates and
diploma programs). If you want this option, proceed to Admission Requirements.
High School: Take courses needed to obtain OSSD and to apply as a high school graduate. If
you want this option, go back to Step 1: Learner Type and follow the High School Graduate
instructions.
Transfer Student Options
Choose which credential you want to apply for:
You may be eligible for a Humber Ontario Graduate Certificate if you have completed a
diploma or degree program. If you want this option, proceed to Humber Ontario Graduate
Certificates.
If you want to apply for a diploma to degree entry, proceed to Admission Requirements.
Admission Requirements
Choose which option best describes you:
You do not meet your specific program admission requirements. If yes, proceed to General
Arts & Sciences and Foundation Programs.
You meet your program admission requirements. If yes, proceed to Determine Transfer
Credits.
General Arts & Sciences and Foundation Programs
Pick the program you would like to take.
Humber GAS Degree & University Transfer: Take this 1 to 2 year program to improve your
grades to meet degree requirements. You may become eligible for entry into a degree at
Humber or another institution, including some universities. Proceed to either:
o Humber Bachelor Degrees.
o Other University or College.
o Or learn more about this program at humber.ca/gas.
Humber GAS College Transfer: Take this 1 year program to improve your grades to meet
diploma or degree requirements. You may become eligible for entry into a diploma or degree at
Humber or another college or institution. Proceed to either:
o Humber Certificates & Diplomas.
o Humber Advanced Diplomas.
o Humber Bachelor Degrees.
o Or learn more about this program at humber.ca/gas.
Humber GAS Pre-Health Sciences & Technology: Take this 2 semester program to get an
introduction into Humber health or tech programs. You may become eligible for entry into a
number of related health and engineering programs at Humber.
o Humber Certificates & Diplomas.
o Humber Advanced Diplomas.
o Humber Bachelor Degrees.
o Or learn more about this program at humber.ca/gas.
Humber Foundation Programs: Take a 2 semester program to explore and gain experience in
art, media or design programs. You may become eligible for entry into a diploma or degree at
Humber or at another college or institution.
o Humber Certificates & Diplomas.
o Humber Advanced Diplomas.
o Humber Bachelor Degrees.
o Or learn more about these programs at humber.ca/foundation.
Determine Transfer Credits
Determine what transfer credits you may be eligible for and apply to transfer your credits. You can do this
at humber.ca/transfercredits then proceed to one of the options listed below.
For degree entry proceed to Humber Bachelor Degrees. If you are using mature student
status, you must be 21 years or older to apply.
For Advanced Diploma entry proceed to Humber Advanced Diplomas.
For Certificate & Diploma entry proceed to Humber Certificates & Diplomas.
Other University or College
After taking the GAS Degree & University Transfer course you may be eligible to get a degree from another
university or college. After you get your degree you can return to Humber to get an Ontario Graduate
Certificate and possibly continue on to a Masters Program. Explore this pathway by proceeding to Humber
Ontario Graduate Certificates.
Humber Certificates & Diplomas
These 2 to 4 semester industry-focused programs ensure graduates are career-ready as well as providing
a foundation for further education. Choose one of the following options:

Diploma holders may have pathways into related advanced diplomas. Proceed to Humber
Advanced Diplomas.
Diploma and advanced diploma holders may be eligible for advanced standing in degree
programs. Proceed to Humber Bachelor Degrees.
Diploma, advanced diploma and degree holders may be eligible for entry in Ontario graduate
certificate programs. Proceed to Humber Ontario Graduate Certificates.
Humber Advanced Diplomas
These 4 to 6 semester in-depth programs include work placement for career-ready opportunities as well as
providing a foundation for further education. Choose one of the following options:

Diploma and advanced diploma holders may be eligible for advanced standing in degree
programs. Proceed to Humber Bachelor Degrees.

Humber Bachelor Degrees
Take a 4 year program at Humber, a provincial leader in degree education in the Ontario college sector.
Approximately one quarter of all students enrolled in college degree programs in the province are studying
at Humber. Choose one of the following options:

Diploma and degree holders from Humber and from around the world apply to Humber’s 1 to 2 year
graduate programs for career-focused education. Choose one of the following options:
