Why we need Back-to-School cards
Cradles to Crayons aims to include a hand-made
Back-to-School card in every one of the 35,000
backpacks we’ll distribute at our Backpack-A-
Thon™ event in August.
The cards feature encouraging words about the
upcoming school year and help the receiving child
feel optimistic and excited about learning.
Deliver or mail cards to Cradles to Crayons by
July 29, 2020 so that they are ready for
distribution at our Backpack-A-Thon™ event.
Mission of Cradles to Crayons
Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12,
living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential
items they need to thrive at home, at school, and at play.
We supply these items free of charge by engaging and
connecting communities that have with communities that need.
A project for children & adults
Back-to-School cards are a creative way to engage
children in giving back to their community.
Creating Back-to-School cards is a fun project for
school groups, youth groups, and more.
It’s also an easy way to engage your office or
organization. If you’ve been wanting to get involved
with Cradles to Crayons but aren’t able to make it to
our warehouse to volunteer, this is a great way to get
connected!

Help the children we serve
feel valued and ready to learn
“With school right around the corner, having to
purchase a bag and supplies for Maya was at the
top of my list. Thank you for removing that stressor
for me. Maya appreciates her bag and supplies and
she thought it was awesome that a personal note
was included. She was so touched. With so many
negative occurrences happening every day, it’s
truly rewarding to know that folks care.”
– Parent who received back-to-school items for her
daughter from Cradles to Crayons
Use crayons, markers or colored pencils for
writing and drawing pictures.
Fold the paper in half and write inspiring
messages on the front AND inside the card.
Make your cards colorful and add fun
accents like stickers.
